Properties and notes

Edit properties

Open a node or relationship and select an existing property pill to edit its value. To add another property, choose one of the reusable project properties or define a new property and its value type.

Inputs follow the property definition:

• text, integer, decimal, true/false, and date fields;
• enums without payloads, using a searchable option menu;
• lists whose items can be added, removed, reordered, and edited;
• structured values with a guided field editor, including nested data types and payload enums.

Select a structured value to open its editor. Nested structs can be expanded or collapsed, while nested lists provide controls for adding, removing, and reordering items. Changes are applied only when you choose Save. If a saved value no longer matches its data type, Weave asks you to reset it before editing; the existing value remains unchanged until you save the replacement.

Saved date values are displayed with the calendar selected in Project time. Selecting another calendar updates their displayed dates without changing the stored moment. Select a Date field to open a calendar beside it and choose its value; Weave stores the selected moment as an internal timeline tick. If the calendar cannot show a date grid, enter the date in that calendar’s formatted form.

Property definitions can be attached to types so every item of that type offers the same fields. See Types and reusable properties.

Write rich content

The Content section on node and relationship detail pages autosaves as you write. Select text to open the compact toolbar for bold, italic, inline code, or links.

Type / at the start of a block to insert:

• headings 1–3;
• bulleted or numbered lists;
• a quote or code block;
• a divider;
• an image by URL.

Images can be resized, and blocks can be reordered with the editor’s drag handle. A temporary save failure is reported without discarding the content.

Mention graph items

Type @ to search the nodes and relationships visible at the current project time. Choose a result to insert a clickable mention.

While editing a node, press Tab in the mention picker to switch to relationship-creation mode. Choosing another node then continues through edge type and property selection, creating both the mention and a graph relationship.

If you later remove a strong mention that created a relationship, Weave asks whether the relationship should also be deleted. Choose carefully: keeping the edge preserves graph data even though the mention disappears from the note.

Relationship content supports normal mentions, but it does not offer this create-relationship mode because the host item is not a node.
