Calendars

Calendars translate internal ticks into the dates used by your world. A project can have several calendars describing the same underlying time in different ways.

Open Calendars and choose the add action. Enter a name, then start from:

  • Gregorian for twelve months, weekday overlays, and familiar leap behavior.
  • Seasonal for a simple four-span, 90-day seasonal cycle.
  • Blank for a minimal definition you will build yourself.

Choose Create calendar. The new calendar opens immediately.

Templates are starting points, not global presets. Editing the created calendar does not change other calendars made from the same template.

The list shows each calendar’s name, primary chain or unit summary, and last update. Select a row to open it.

Use the delete action to remove a calendar after confirmation. This cannot be undone from the list. A calendar still referenced by dates or configuration may need those references changed first.

Open it and select the title. Enter the new name, then press Enter or leave the field to save. Press Esc to keep the old name.

The title saves independently from definition drafts.

Select a compatible calendar from Project time to format the sidebar date, jump grid, and date property values. Changing calendars changes how the same stored moments are displayed.

Continue to Build a calendar definition for units, spans, leap rules, and overlays, or Events and converter for recurrence and date conversion.
