Manage spatial layouts
Open Spatial in the sidebar to manage spatial layouts. You can also create one directly from Atlas.
Create a spatial layout
Section titled “Create a spatial layout”Choose New spatial layout, enter a name, and select an owner node. A spatial layout belongs to its owner and appears on that node’s detail page.
If the owner does not exist yet, choose New owner. Create the node, including its type and properties, and Weave returns to the layout form with that node selected. The node is saved immediately and remains in the project if you cancel the layout.
Choose a square or hex Grid type and enter a positive whole-number Cell size. For hex grids, cell size means edge length. Use Grid position to put the grid below or above the layout content. You can change these settings later from Grid in the layout header.
Choose a time mode
Section titled “Choose a time mode”Every spatial layout has one of two time modes:
- All time shows its content regardless of the project’s viewed moment.
- Follow project uses the current project time.
When a Follow project layout’s owner is inactive or unavailable at the viewed moment, the layout cannot be opened from the list. Change project time or switch the layout to All time while its owner is available.
Manage the list
Section titled “Manage the list”The list shows each layout’s name, owner, time, and last update.
- Select an available row or its name to open it.
- Select the owner to open that node.
- Right-click a row and choose Rename, then Save. With the row focused, press Shift+F10 to open the same menu from the keyboard.
- Use the trash action to delete the layout after confirmation.
Deleting a spatial layout does not delete its owner or other graph data.
The layout header lets you return to Spatial, switch to another spatial layout, open the owner, configure the grid, and change the time mode. Geometry, uploads, and viewport changes save automatically. Weave protects pending saves when you navigate away.
